What to Pack for the Caribbean?

I constantly get asked “what should I pack for my 7 day Caribbean cruise?
First of all DON”T OVER PACK and ALWAYS PACK A GREAT ATTITUDE!
Here are my suggestions:
Travel Documents & Essentials
  • Valid passport or government-issued photo identification (this depends on your cruise line and your itinerary) Always check prior to departure
  • Cruise boarding documents and travel itinerary
  • Credit and debit cards, plus a small amount of cash (some destinations do not accept US Dollars, so inquire before you depart) your local bank might be able to order their currency if necessary
  • Travel insurance details and emergency contact information
  • Mobile phone and charging cables
  • Portable power bank
Clothing
Daytime Attire
  • 5–7 casual daytime outfits
  • 2–3 swimsuits
  • Swim cover-up or beachwear
  • 2 pairs of shorts
  • 3–4 T-shirts, polos, or tank tops
  • Lightweight sundress or casual resort wear
Evening Attire
  • 2–3 outfits for dinner and onboard entertainment
  • 1 formal or elegant outfit (for formal night, if applicable)
  • Light sweater, wrap, or jacket for air-conditioned venues
Footwear
  • Comfortable walking shoes for excursions and sightseeing are a must
  • Sandals or flip-flops for pool and beach days
  • Dress shoes or evening sandals
  • Water shoes for beach or water-based activities (optional)

  • Reef-safe sunscreen (protect the environment)

  • Small backpack or daypacke-release spray
  • Wrinkle release spray as most cruise lines do not allow irons to be brought onboard due to fire hazard
  • Resealable bags for wet clothing or valuables

  • Binoculars
  • Travel games or playing cards
  • Notebook and pen
  • If traveling with small childrendiapers, wipes, a favorite toy or compact games
Packing Tips
  • Pack lighter than you think you’ll need—cruise attire is often more casual than expected.

  • Keep travel documents, medications, valuables, and a change of clothes in your carry-on bag for easy access on embarkation day.
